Preventive Health Clinic

A clinic design with the primary aim of providing Preventive Health Care and education. We want to prevent disease by assessing risk factors, or detect disease as early as possible prior to the onset of any symptoms. Additionally, Dr. Desai particularly passionate about educating the patients about lifestyle factors that can be modified n order to reduce the risk of developing disease.

We can also assess and manage simple or complex health conditions.

Aims and Services

The primary aim of this clinic is to detect disease in their earliest stages, and ways that you can reduce the risk of developing other diseases at all. This is preventive health.

Other services offered during these appointments:

• Lifestyle and Preventative Care: Routine checks, allied health care referral;
• Chronic Health Condition :Cardiovascular, diabetes, respiratory conditions and other chronic health conditions;
• Wellbeing and Mental Health: Anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions;
• Complex Presentations: As we age many people develop inter related health problems – between diabetes, high blood pressure and overweight/obesity.

Preventive Health also provides follow up Preventive Care, Primary Care and Acute Care at our Preventive Health Clinic. Our mission at Preventive Health is to shift the focus of healthcare from reactive and important first step in this mission. Our goal with the Preventive Health Clinic is to provide access to additional healthcare and services that may be needed as a result of the health screening.

The purpose of health screening is to provide each patient with information and guidance regarding their current state of health. Depending upon the results of health screening, follow up care may be recommended to address a medical issue before symptoms manifest. Many health screening participants have a primary care provider (PCP) and at the patient request we will forward on their health screening results to their PC. However many of our health screenings participants do not have PCP and a Preventive Health Clinic serves as an option for follow up care with the same clinical team that provides our screenings services.
